One of my motives in creating Cultivating Sanctuary (SM) is a deep desire to help women avoid the kind of burnout I have experienced and develop skills and practices that allow them to be well amidst life’s disruptions. This is why our is “Creating space for intentional rest.”
“Extending grace and self-compassion” is one of our six core values at Cultivating Sanctuary (SM). These practices are essential for heal thing and growth. They open us to new possibilities and give us space to examine our narrative around past events and interactions with fresh eyes.
“Speaking truth in love” is one of our six core values here at Cultivating Sanctuary (SM). This practice is fundamental to the work of getting unstuck by releasing old narratives in our lives. It can be hard work at times, but it is healing work that expands our self-awareness and self-understanding and so frees us in the process of becoming our truest selves.
“Owning your journey” is both about claiming agency in our own lives and recognizing that who we are as people is not static. It is about actively engaging in reflective and healing work that processes the messiness of our human lives and relationships in order to grow in health, wholeness, and well-being.
God creates each of us with a unique combination of gifts, abilities, motivations, and personality traits. Each of us also has a unique set of experiences, life events, choices and decisions that shape our journey and how we move through the world. Because of this, each of us is equipped in different ways to play a role in the healing of the world.
This value is about getting practical. It’s about developing an infrastructure of habits and people that will contribute to your quality of life in ordinary days and be the tools and connections for resiliency when you’re navigating a season that feels more intense due to the level of disruption.
